The Flower Touch

This Spring, turn your eyes to the garden as a resource for interiors and entertaining. The garden can provide inspiration into home life, where you can go beyond traditional arrangement-in-a-vase to using nontraditional containers, unexpected accessories (fruit, candles…), combining unusual colors and texture. Let your creativity and personal style flow.

Here are some tips on how to properly care for fresh cut flowers, which can last up to a week or longer if properly conditioned:
- Strip the leaves that would be below the waterline
- All flowers need to be cut at a 45 degree angle in order to expose as much surface area as possible for maximum water uptake.

Flower Food Mixtures:
- Mix a dash of bleach and one teaspoon os sugar in a gallon of lukewarm water to make an excellent flower food.
- A tablespoon of mouthwash in a gallon of lukewarm water also makes a great food for cut flowers.
